Sundays and midweek

People of all ages and backgrounds attend our church so if you are new, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you. We have two Sunday Services: one at 10.30am & one at 6.30pm. Both services are followed by tea and coffee so we can build friendships and get to know each other more.

What to expect on a Sunday?

If you visit one of our services you can do so knowing that there is no entrance fee and no one will make you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. You won’t be asked to speak publicly. Simply sit where you’re comfortable and discover what it’s like to be in a church filled with ordinary people who have encountered an extraordinary God. There will be a chance to sing well known hymns, learn new songs, listen to a Bible reading and listen as someone leads a main prayer.

We also listen to a message from the Bible. This is a very important part in all our services because it reveals the truth about God, the world and us. It’s the only way we can truly make sense of everything around us and possibly hope to understand what is going on within us. The only way to understand what life is really all about and the only way to answer life’s most important questions.  Who am I, where am I going, what is this life all about and what really happens after this life. That’s why Jesus is so important. He not only gives us the answer but He IS the answer. That’s why God so loved the world and gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Sunday services

Sunday morning

The morning service starts at 10:30am and includes children and youth groups. We praise God by singing hymns and modern songs, we pray and we listen to God’s word the Bible being read and preached.

Sunday evening

The Sunday evening service starts at 6.30pm and is usually slightly shorter in length with a more intimate feel. With the richness of gospel truths sung to hymns, we also sit under God’s word being preached.

Midweek Events

Wednesday Prayer Meeting

On Wednesday evenings at 7:45pm in Selhurst Church Hall we come together for our weekly prayer meeting. This is a time for us to stand together as a church and submit our requests as well as share our praises to God.

Thursday Lunch Social/Coffee Mornings

On alternate Thursdays you can book in for the lunch social, open to church members and the wider community. A great chance to get to know each other better in a more personal and relaxed environment. On the other weeks we have a coffee morning where you’ll receive a huge Selhurst Church welcome.
