Welcome to Selhurst Church

Don’t Give Up! This Sunday at 10:30am.

Alun Ebenezer will be preaching from Hebrews 4.

Selhurst Church, based near the centre of Croydon, is a multi-cultural, multi-generational church made up of people from all walks of life and a place where everyone is welcome. We are a church for people who don’t usually go to church and for those that do. So whether you’ve been to church all your life, never been before or you’ve been away for a while, we welcome you. Maybe you’ve been bruised, bored, beaten up or burned out on church and it’s time to get back, then we’d be delighted to see you. Whoever you are, wherever you’re from and whatever your story, we do not judge you but welcome you.

If you visit one of our services you can do so knowing that you won’t be asked to speak publicly. In fact, there is no pressure to say anything. Simply sit where you’re comfortable and discover what it’s like to be in a church filled with ordinary people who have encountered an extraordinary God. There will be a chance to sing well known hymns, learn new songs, listen to a bible reading and listen as someone leads a main prayer.

We also listen to a message from the bible. This is a very important part in all our services because it reveals the truth about God, the world and us. It’s the only way we can truly make sense of everything around us and possibly hope to understand what is going on within us. The only way to understand what life is really all about and the only way to answer life’s most important questions.  Who am I, where am I going, what is this life all about and what really happens after this life. That’s why Jesus is so important. He not only gives us the answer but He IS the answer. That’s why God so loved the world and gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Selhurst – A Church for Everyone – A Church for You.

What's it all about?

Want to know a bit more about what Christians believe? Maybe you've never had a chance to explore for yourself what the Bible says about life, death and what happens afterwards. If you to want to find out more feel free to browse our What is Christianity? page or perhaps you might want to join a few other people on a course that we run regularly. The courses are a chance to hear what the Bible has to say about what life really means.

Who is Jesus?

I'm new!

Whether you’ve visited several times or just thinking about coming to Selhurst Church, we’re glad to have you join us. For those who are not yet fully committed to following Jesus Christ, there will be no pressure at Selhurst Evangelical Church to conform to any preconceived expectations. We don’t want you to act like anything. We want you to feel safe to be yourself.
